The role of rehabilitation is becoming increasingly important in cancer care to help people stay physically and emotionally strong during and after treatment. There is a vast and growing amount of evidence illustrating that exercise rehabilitation is one of the best “medicines” people can take in addition to their standard cancer treatments. Research is showing the exercise can help to reduce the recurrence of cancer. PINC & STEEL cancer rehab is suitable for any type of cancer and any stage from diagnosis, during and after chemo or surgery to many years after treatment has been completed. It is suitable for all ages, fitness levels and mobility. Our physio Anna has completed her PINC & STEEL training and is passionate about providing this clientele with the tools to allow them to take control of their own recovery. Email Anna for further information.
Do you want to get the most out of your riding? Paul will use video analysis to look at how you move on your bike and highlight any significant asymmetries which can make you prone to injury. Your bike will then be adjusted to fit you and your movement patterns to try to prevent injury and enhance performance. A biomechanical assessment will test those commonly used muscles in riding for weakness or tightness and from this Paul will provide you with an individualised exercise programme to help you reach your goals.

The vestibular system includes the organs in the inner ear and the areas of the brain that process information regarding vision and motion, and is crucial for maintaining balance and for the stability of gaze. People with vestibular disorders can experience a whole range of symptoms including vertigo, dizziness, visual disturbance, feelings of being off-balance, and strange disturbing sensations in their heads with head movements. Vestibular rehabilitation depends on the presenting symptoms and thorough examination. It focuses on improving those symptoms through a range of exercises for their balance, vision, and strength. There is a high level of evidence available demonstrating vestibular rehabilitation for treating dizziness to be safe, effective and relatively inexpensive. It is an excellent tool in enabling patients to fulfill their potential, increasing their physical activity levels and achieving their goals. If you experience vertigo, dizziness or imbalance vestibular physiotherapy can help you. Call and make an appointment with Paul.

We know that around 1 in 10 workers are harmed each year, with about 200,000 claims being made to ACC for costs associated with work-related injuries. Alongside your health and safety consultant, Queenstown Physiotherapy can work to minimise the at risk areas of your business.
Physiotherapists are your ergonomic and rehabilitation experts and your go to professionals when you need to create behavioural change in health and safety. We know the body and the effects of posture, movement patterns (the good the bad and the ugly) on the body and we can assess every work place to give you an individual plan.
Every business is unique which is why we tailor your health and safety training to your business’ needs. We take into account tasks undertaken, current culture, the work space, and previous injuries to develop a package of care for your business. These will help you reach your workplace health and safety goals.
This is done onsite with the length of time varying depending on your business and staff numbers. The review includes an observation of tasks, assessment of injury risk taking into consideration load, environment, people, task and management. A formal review is completed and recommendations on applications on safe handling principles to your work place tasks are provided.
This is usually done on site and is an hour long session catered to 10-12 employees. We cover general principles on how to lift, carry and handle loads, what employees need to be aware of, and practical examples of how to reduce risk of injury and unload tension-prone regions. We can tailor these sessions to specific tasks relevant to your industry. This has a more practical component giving your staff the self-help tools to be able to minimise injury and prevent niggles becoming chronic problems.
This is done in our Queenstown clinic and is one on one with a potential employee. A pre-screening check allows for any underlying conditions to be assessed to see if this would affect their work. Potential employees need to declare any pre-existing injuries. This can save you money in the long run if the potential employee is not fit enough or strong enough for the work tasks required.
Assessing individual staff who have had prior injuries, or staff members who perform job tasks that are seen to be at risk of injury, will minimise the risk of injury recurrence. The 45 minute assessment is tailored to each employee. This is an ideal way to educate an employee on why they are at risk and provide specific exercises that will unload their joints and minimise risk of injury.
Early return to work following injury has been shown to be a vital part of rehabilitation and will save you business money in the long term. Queenstown Physiotherapy is your preferred provider of care providing comprehensive rehabilitation for your injured staff, enabling them to return to work as soon as possible. We also work with you to manage your employee’s return to work and communicate with the employee’s doctor around medical certificates. We are contracted with ACC to provide return to work programmes to help strengthen and get them work ready communicating with you the employer about their progress. We are co-located with Queenstown Medical centre and work closely with doctors to help your employees return to work.
The price of this is covered by ACC and client
